When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the closing salutation of the prayer, he would not remain seated longer than it took to say, "O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, Possessor of Majesty and Honor."
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا سلم لم يجلس إلا مقدار ما يقول: اللهم أنت السلام ومنك السلام، تباركت يا ذا الجلال والإكرام.
Ibn Abu Shayba narrated it in his Musannaf (3085), Nasai in Kubra (10126), and Ibn Hibban (2002), all through various chains from Asim Ahwal, from Awsaja bin Rimah, from Abdullah bin Abu Huzayl, from Abdullah bin Masud, and he related it.Its chain is hasan due to the discussion surrounding Awsaja bin Rimah. Daraqutni said he is "close to unknown," since only Asim Ahwal narrated from him. However, Ibn Main deemed him trustworthy, as stated in Jarh wat-Tadil (7/24), so at the very least his hadith is acceptable.This report was heard by Asim from Abdullah bin Harith, from Ayesha, as found in Sahih Muslim, and he also heard it from Awsaja, from Abdullah bin Abu Huzayl, from Abdullah bin Masud. Both versions are preserved as authentic, as Ibn Hibban stated.
