I came in upon the Prophet ﷺ while he was praying. He had placed his left hand on his left thigh and his right hand on his right thigh, with his fingers closed and his index finger extended, and he was saying, "Turner of hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion."
دخلت على النبي ﷺ وهو يصلي، وقد وضع يده اليسرى على فخذه اليسرى، ووضع يده اليمنى على فخذه اليمنى، وقبض أصابعه، وبسط السبابة وهو يقول: يا مقلب القلوب، ثبت قلبي على دينك.
Tirmidhi (3587) narrated it from Uqba bin Mukram, who said, Saeed bin Sufyan Jahdari told us, Abdullah bin Madan told us, Asim bin Kulayb Jarmi informed me, from his father, from his grandfather, who said, then he related it. Tirmidhi said, "A gharib hadith from this route." I say, perhaps he judged it gharib because of Abdullah bin Madan, since no one deemed him reliable except Ibn Hibban, so he is "acceptable" according to Hafiz. However, Ibn Main said of him, "Salih (sound/upright)," and likewise Safwan corroborated him.Abu Yaala Mawsili narrated it in his Musnad, saying, Sayyar told us, Muhammad bin Humran told us, Safwan told us, from Asim bin Kulayb, with the same chain. He added in it, "I entered the masjid while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in prayer," and the rest of the hadith is the same. I was unable to identify Safwan precisely, but no one bearing the name Safwan has been accused of dishonesty, so his corroboration of Abdullah bin Madan makes the hadith hasan li-ghayrihi.
