The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Allah has finished judging between His servants and wishes to bring out by His mercy whomever He wills from the people of the Fire, He will command the angels to bring out of the Fire those who never associated anything with Allah, from among those He wishes to show mercy to, those who bore witness that there is no god but Allah. The angels will recognize them in the Fire by the marks of prostration. The Fire consumes everything of the son of Adam except the marks of prostration, for Allah has forbidden the Fire to consume the marks of prostration. They will be brought out of the Fire scorched and shriveled, then the water of life will be poured over them, and they will sprout beneath it as seeds sprout in the silt left by a flood."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Tawhid (7437), and Muslim in the Book of Iman (182), both through Ibrahim bin Saad, from Ibn Shihab, from Ata bin Yazid Laythi, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it, in a long hadith previously mentioned in the Book of Iman.
