The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid us from spreading out our forearms on the ground the way a dog or a wild beast spreads its limbs.
كان رسول الله ﷺ ينهانا أن يفترش أحدنا ذراعيه افتراش الكلب أو السبع.
Abdul-Razzaq narrated it (2938) from Uthman bin Matar, from Husayn, from Budayl Aqeeli, from Abu Jawza, from Ayesha, and she related the hadith. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Husayn is Ibn Zakwan, the teacher, the scribe, al-Awdhi, one of the narrators found in all the major collections.Budayl is Ibn Maysara Aqeeli Basri. Ibn Main, Nasai, Ajli, Ibn Hibban, and others deemed him trustworthy, and he is one of the narrators used by Muslim.Muslim narrated the hadith in the Book of Prayer (498) through two routes from Husayn the teacher with the same wording, in a long context describing the prayer of the Prophet ﷺ. It was previously mentioned in full in the chapter on maintaining composure in ruku and sujud.
