The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Suraqa, shall I tell you about the people of Paradise and the people of Hell?"He replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "As for the people of Hell, they are every harsh, greedy, arrogant person. As for the people of Paradise, they are the weak and downtrodden."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: يا سراقة، ألا أخبرك بأهل الجنة وأهل النار؟ فقال: بلى يا رسول الله، فقال: أما أهل النار فكل جعظري جواظ مستكبر، وأما أهل الجنة فالضعفاء المغلوبون.
Tabarani related it in al-Kabir (7/152), and Hakim (3/619), both of them through Abdullah bin Salih. Hakim also related it (1/60–61) through Zayd bin Hubab. Both of them (Abdullah bin Salih and Zayd bin Hubab) narrated from Musa bin Ali bin Rabah Lakhmi, from his father, from Suraqa bin Malik bin Jasham Mudlaji, and he related it. Its chain is hasan because of Zayd bin Hubab, for his hadith is hasan, and he has been corroborated.Ahmad related it (17585) from Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, from Musa bin Ali with his chain, and he said, "It has reached me from Suraqa bin Malik," and he related it.The correct view is that of the one who related it as connected, for Ali bin Rabah's hearing from Suraqa bin Malik has been established.
