Tirmidhi (2546), Ahmad (22940), Ibn Hibban (7459), and Hakim (1/81–82) all narrated it through the route of Abu Sinan Darrar bin Mura, from Muharib bin Dithar, from Ibn Burayda, from his father, who said, and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Burayda is Sulayman bin Burayda bin Husayb Aslami. Hakim said, "This hadith is sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." The hadith has other routes as well, and this is the best of them.This additional wording is to be understood as referring to a bounty from Allah beyond the half. It is also reported from Ibn Masud, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "How would you feel about being a quarter of the people of Paradise, with a quarter for you and three quarters for the rest of mankind?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "How would you feel about being a third of them?" They said, "That is more." He said, "How would you feel about being half of them?" They said, "That is even more." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection will be a hundred and twenty rows, and you will make up eighty of them."Ahmad (4328), Bazzar in Kashf Astar (3534), Abu Yaala (5358), Tabarani in Kabir (10/208–209), Awsat (543), and Saghir (82) all narrated it through the route of Affan bin Muslim, who said, Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad narrated to us, who said, Harith bin Husayra narrated to us, who said, Qasim bin Abdul-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Masud, and he mentioned it.In this chain of transmission is Qasim's father, who is Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Masud, and Abdul-Rahman heard only four hadiths from his father Abdullah bin Masud, and this is not one of them.
