The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My Lord has promised me that He will admit seventy thousand of my nation into Paradise without reckoning, and that every thousand will intercede for another seventy thousand. Then my Lord will scoop up three handfuls with His palms."Qays said, "I asked Abu Saeed, 'Did you hear this yourself from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?'"He replied, "Yes, with my own ears, and my heart took it in."Abu Saeed said, "That number, Allah willing, will encompass the emigrants of his nation, and Allah will complete the remainder from our bedouins."
Tabarani related it in al-Awsat (406), and in al-Kabir (22/304–305) from Ahmad bin Khalid, who said, Abu Tuba Rabi bin Nafi told us, Muawiya bin Salam told us, from Zayd bin Salam, that he heard Abu Salam say, Abdullah bin Amir told me that Qays bin Harith Kindi told him that Abu Saeed Anmari said, and then he mentioned it. Except that in al-Kabir it appears as "Abu Saeed Ansari" instead of "Abu Saeed Anmari."Haythami said in al-Majma (10/409), "Its narrators are trustworthy." Ibn Hajar graded it sahih in al-Isabah (12/300). It has been reported in some chains of this hadith, as Ibn Hajar mentioned in the aforementioned place, that the successor narrator is Qays bin Hajar, and he said of him, "He is a trustworthy Syrian." It has likewise been reported that the companion narrator is Abu Saad Khayr Ansari.I say, this does not affect the soundness of the hadith, since all the companions are of upright character. As for Qays bin Harith or Qays bin Hajar, both of them are among the trustworthy narrators. Ibn Hajar hesitated in al-Isabah because of the discrepancy in the chain, saying, "Because of this discrepancy, one withholds definitive judgment on the soundness of this chain." He likewise raised this same criticism in al-Fath (11/411).
