I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the sun rose, and he said, "A people will come to Allah on the Day of Resurrection whose light is like the light of the sun."Abu Bakr asked, "Are we those people, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "No, though much good is reserved for you. They are the poor and the emigrants who will be gathered from the far corners of the earth."Then he said, "Blessed are the strangers. Blessed are the strangers. Blessed are the strangers."Someone asked, "Who are the strangers, Messenger of Allah?"He answered, "Righteous people among many corrupt people, where those who disobey them outnumber those who obey them."
كنت عند رسول الله ﷺ وطلعت الشمس، فقال: يأتي الله قوم يوم القيامة نورهم كنور الشمس، فقال أبو بكر: أنحن هم يا رسول الله؟ قال: لا، ولكم خير كثير، ولكنهم الفقراء والمهاجرون الذين يحشرون من أقطار الأرض وقال: طوبى للغرباء، طوبى للغرباء، طوبى للغرباء، فقيل: من الغرباء يا رسول الله؟ قال: ناس صالحون في ناس سوء كثير، من يعصيهم أكثر ممن يطيعهم.
Ahmad (7072) narrated it from Qutayba, who said, Ibn Lahia narrated to us, from Harith bin Yazid, from Jundab bin Abdullah, from Sufyan bin Awf, from Abdullah bin Amr, who said, then he mentioned it.Ibn Mubarak also narrated it in Zuhd (775) from Ibn Lahia with similar wording. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Lahia, for he had experienced confusion in his narrations later in life, but the narrations of Qutayba and Ibn Mubarak from him predate that confusion. Likewise, it contains Jundab bin Abdullah, who is Walibi Kufi, one of the men mentioned in Tajil, and no one is recorded as having narrated from him except Harith bin Yazid, but Ajli said, "A Kufan follower of the Companions, trustworthy." Similarly, his teacher Sufyan bin Awf, who is Qari, is also one of the men mentioned in Tajil. Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, and Ajli said, "An Egyptian follower of the Companions, trustworthy."
