The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The poor among the emigrants will enter Paradise five hundred years before the wealthy among them."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: فقراء المهاجرين يدخلون الجنة قبل أغنيائهم بخمسمائة سنة.
Tirmidhi (2351) and Ibn Majah (4123) both narrated it through routes from Atiya Awfi, from Abu Saeed Khudri, as mentioned. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan gharib from this angle." Atiya bin Saeed Awfi was declared daif by Abu Hatim, Nasai, and others, but he is corroborated in the narration of this part of the hadith. Abu Dawud (3666) and Ahmad (11604) both narrated it through the route of Jafar bin Sulayman, who said, Mualla bin Ziyad told us, Ala bin Bashir Muzani told us, from Abu Siddiq Naji, who is Bakr bin Amr Basri, from Abu Saeed Khudri, mentioning it with a longer wording, ending with this part of the hadith.As for Ala bin Bashir Muzani, Ibn Madini said, "Unknown, no one narrated from him except Mualla bin Ziyad." Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his trustworthy narrators. With this corroboration, the hadith rises to the level of hasan.There is no contradiction between "forty autumns" and "five hundred years," since this relates to the different ranks of people in poverty and wealth.
