Umm Salama bint Abu Umaya reported,

I said to the Prophet ﷺ, "Hisham bin Mughira used to maintain ties of kinship, host guests, ransom captives, and feed the hungry. Had he lived to see Islam, would any of that have benefited him?"He replied, "No. He gave only for the sake of this world, for its renown and its praise, and he never once said, 'My Lord, forgive me on the Day of Judgment.'"
