She used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Be steadfast, aim close to the mark, and rejoice, for no one's deeds will admit him to Paradise."They asked, "Not even you, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Not even me, unless Allah envelops me in His mercy. And know that the deed most beloved to Allah is the one done consistently, even if it is small."
أنها كانت تقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ سددوا، وقاربوا، وأبشروا، فإنه لن يدخل الجنة أحدا عمله قالوا: ولا أنت يا رسول الله؟ قال: ولا أنا، إلا أن يتغمدني الله منه برحمة، واعلموا أن أحب العمل إلى الله أدومه وإن قل.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Softening of Hearts (6464), and Muslim in the Book of the Description of the Day of Resurrection, Paradise, and Hell (2818), both through Musa bin Uqba, who said, "I heard Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf narrating from Ayesha," and he mentioned it. The wording given is Muslim's.
