The Prophet ﷺ said, "If even the smallest amount of what is in Paradise, the size of what fits under a fingernail, were to appear, it would adorn everything between the horizons of the heavens and the earth. And if one of the people of Paradise were to look out and his bracelets became visible, they would blot out the light of the sun just as the sun blots out the light of the stars."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: لو أن ما يقل ظفر مما في الجنة بدا لتزخرفت له ما بين خوافق السموات والأرض، ولو أن رجلا من أهل الجنة اطلع فبدا أساوره لطمس ضوء الشمس كما تطمس الشمس ضوء النجوم.
Tirmidhi (2538), Ahmad (1467), and Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (4377) all narrated it through Abdullah bin Mubarak, and it also appears in his Zuhd (416), who said, Ibn Lahia informed us, from Yazid bin Abu Habib, from Dawud bin Amir bin Saad bin Abu Waqqas, from his father, from his grandfather, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Ibn Lahia, for there is well known discussion about him, but the narration of Abdullah bin Mubarak from him is more reliable than that of others, and this is one of those narrations. It has other chains as well, and this is the most sahih of them.Tirmidhi said, "This is a rare hadith. We do not know it with this chain of transmission except through the report of Ibn Lahia. Yahya bin Ayub narrated this hadith from Yazid bin Abu Habib and said, from Umar bin Saad bin Abu Waqqas, from the Prophet ﷺ," meaning as a mursal narration.That is what he said. But Layth bin Saad also narrated it from Yazid bin Abu Habib, as Daraqutni stated in Ilal (608), and he judged the connected chain to be more reliable than the mursal one.
