He used to become in a state of major ritual impurity at night and would want to sleep, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed him to perform ablution and then sleep.
أنه كان تصيبه الجنابة من الليل، فيريد أن ينام، فأمره رسول الله ﷺ أن يتوضأ ثم ينام.
Ibn Majah reported it (586), saying, Abu Marwan Uthmani Muhammad bin Uthman told us, Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad told us, from Yazid bin Abdullah bin Had, from Abdullah bin Khabab, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related the hadith. Ahmad also reported it (11523) through another route from Abdullah bin Khabab, similarly.Busiri said in Zawaid bin Majah, "This chain is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy."
