The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You will complete seventy nations, and you are the last of them and the most honored before Allah. The distance between two of the door-panels of Paradise is a journey of forty years, yet a day will come upon it when it will be packed with crowds."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: أنتم توفون سبعين أمة، أنتم آخرها، وأكرمها على الله، وما بين مصراعين من مصاريع الجنة مسيرة أربعين عاما، وليأتين عليه يوم وإنه لكظيظ.
Ahmad (20025) and Abd bin Humayd (411) both narrated it from Hasan bin Musa, who said, Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, who said, I heard Jareeri narrating from Hakeem bin Muawiya, from his father, who said, and then he mentioned it.Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Al-Ahad wal-Mathani (1475), Ibn Hibban (7388), and Abu Naeem in Hilyah (6/205) and in Sifat al-Jannah (178), all of them through the route of Khalid bin Abdullah Wasiti. Bayhaqi narrated it in Bath wal-Nushur (239) through the route of Ali bin Asim, both of them (Khalid and Ali) transmitting through Saeed Jareeri with this same chain, but they only related the final portion of the hadith.Its chain is hasan because of Hakeem bin Muawiya, for his hadith is hasan. As for Saeed Jareeri, he did become confused in his later years, but the narrations of Hammad bin Salama and Khalid bin Abdullah from him were transmitted before his confusion set in.However, in the version of Ibn Abu Asim and Abu Naeem in Hilyah it reads "seventy years," while in the version of Ibn Hibban, Abu Naeem in Sifat al-Jannah, and Bayhaqi it reads "seven years." If these narrations are proven sound, they could be understood as referring to different matters.
