The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will single out a man from my nation before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection. He will spread out before him ninety-nine scrolls, each scroll stretching as far as the eye can see.Then He will ask, 'Do you deny any of this? Have My recording angels wronged you?'The man will reply, 'No, my Lord.'Allah will ask, 'Do you have any excuse?'He will reply, 'No, my Lord.'Allah will say, 'On the contrary, you have a good deed with Us, and you will not be wronged today.' Then a small card will be brought out, on which is written, 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.'Allah will say, 'Come and witness your weighing.'The man will say, 'My Lord, what is this card compared to all these scrolls?'Allah will reply, 'You will not be wronged.'"The Prophet continued, "The scrolls will be placed on one pan of the scale and the card on the other. The scrolls will fly up and the card will weigh heavy, for nothing can outweigh the name of Allah."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن الله سيخلص رجلا من أمتي على رؤوس الخلائق يوم القيامة فينشر عليه تسعة وتسعين سجلا كل سجل مثل مد البصر، ثم يقول: أتنكر من هذا شيئا؟ أظلمك كتبتي الحافظون؟ فيقول: لا يا رب. فيقول: أفلك عذر؟ فيقول: لا يا رب. فيقول: بلى إن لك عندنا حسنة فإنه لا ظلم عليك اليوم، فتخرج بطاقة فيها: أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله، وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله. فيقول: احضر وزنك فيقول: يا رب ما هذه البطاقة مع هذه السجلات؟ فقال: إنك لا تظلم، قال: فتوضع السجلات في كفة والبطاقة في كفة، فطاشت السجلات وثقلت البطاقة، فلا يثقل مع اسم الله شيء.
Tirmidhi (2639) narrated it, and the wording is his, as did Ibn Majah (4300), both from the hadith of Layth bin Saad, who said, Amir bin Yahya narrated to me, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Maafiri, then Hubli, who said, I heard Abdullah bin Amr bin As, and he mentioned the hadith. Ahmad (6994) narrated it from this route, and Ibn Hibban (225) graded it sahih, as did Hakim (6/1), who said, "sahih in isnad." Tirmidhi said, "hasan gharib." I say, rather the correct view is that it is sahih, for its narrators are reliable.Ahmad (7066) also narrated it from Qutayba, who said, Ibn Lahia narrated to us, from Amir bin Yahya, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, who said, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The scales will be set up on the Day of Resurrection, and a man will be brought and placed on one pan, and what has been recorded against him will be placed, and the scale will tip down with him." He said, "So he will be dispatched toward the Fire, but as he is being taken away, a caller will call out from the presence of the Merciful, saying, 'Do not hasten, do not hasten, for something still remains for him.' Then a card will be brought on which is written, 'There is no god but Allah,' and it will be placed with the man on the pan, until the scale tips down with him."Its isnad is hasan. There is well known discussion about Ibn Lahia, but some of the imams accepted Qutayba's narration from him, like the narration of Abadila, except that an error occurred in the name of one of its narrators, namely Amr bin Yahya, when the correct name is Amir bin Yahya. For Tirmidhi (m2639) narrated it from Qutayba with this isnad and named him Amir bin Yahya, though Tirmidhi did not mention the wording of this narration, but only referred back to the hadith of Layth bin Saad by saying, "similar to it."
