I heard the Prophet ﷺ say in one of his prayers, "O Allah, call me to an easy account."When he had finished, I asked, "Prophet of Allah, what is the easy account?"He replied, "It is that He looks into his book of deeds and overlooks his sins. Whoever is examined closely in the reckoning that day, Ayesha, is doomed. Every hardship that befalls a believer, Allah expiates his sins through it, even a thorn that pricks him."
Ahmad narrated it (24215), and Ibn Khuzayma (849) and Hakim (1/255, 57) both graded it sahih, all of them from the hadith of Ismail, who said, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us and said, Abdul-Wahid bin Hamza bin Abdullah bin Zubayr narrated to me, from Abbad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr, from Ayesha, who said, and she mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, and he has explicitly stated that he heard it directly.
