The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand my soul rests, no one is wounded in the path of Allah, and Allah knows best who is truly wounded in His path, except that he will come on the Day of Resurrection with his wound gushing blood. The color will be the color of blood, but the scent will be the scent of musk."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: والذي نفسي بيده، لا يكلم أحد في سبيل الله- والله أعلم بمن يكلم في سبيله- إلا جاء يوم القيامة وجرحه يثعب دما. اللون لون دم، والريح ريح المسك.
Malik narrated it in jihad (29) from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned. Bukhari narrated it in jihad and military expeditions (2803) through the route of Malik, with similar wording. Muslim narrated it in leadership (1876:105) through the route of Ibn Uyayna, from Abu Zinad.
