The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Isa son of Maryam will descend, and their leader, the Mahdi, will say to him, 'Come and lead us in prayer.'Isa will reply, 'No. Some of them are leaders over others, as an honor from Allah to this nation.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ينزل عيسى بن مريم فيقول أميرهم المهدي: تعال صل بنا، فيقول: لا، إن بعضهم أمير بعض، تكرمة الله لهذه الأمة.
Harith bin Abu Usama narrated it in his Musnad, as mentioned in Al-Manar Al-Munif (pp. 147-148), from Ismail bin Abdul-Kareem, who said, Ibrahim bin Aqeel narrated to us, from his father, from Wahb bin Munabbi, from Jabir, who said, and then he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Ismail bin Abdul-Kareem and Ibrahim bin Aqeel, for they make the hadith hasan. Ibn Qayyim also deemed its chain of transmission good (jayyid) in Al-Manar Al-Munif in the place mentioned. The origin of the hadith is in Sahih Muslim, and it is the hadith that follows.
