The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Mahdi is from me. He has a broad forehead and a prominent, finely curved nose. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness, just as it had been filled with tyranny and oppression. He will rule for seven years."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: المهدي مني أجلى الجبهة، أقنى الأنف، يملأ الأرض قسطا وعدلا كما ملئت جورا وظلما، ويملك سبع سنين.
It was narrated by Abu Dawud (4285), and this is his wording, and by Hakim (4/557), both through Imran Qattan, from Qatada, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who related it as mentioned.Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." Dhahabi responded to this by saying, "Imran is daif, and Muslim did not include him."I say, Imran Qattan is Ibn Dawar Basri, about whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is hasan as long as he does not bring something objectionable, and there is nothing objectionable in this hadith. Rather, its various parts have been narrated in other hadiths.Ibn Qayyim said in Al-Manar Al-Munif (p. 144), "Abu Dawud narrated it with a good chain."
