Asma bint Yazid reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in my house when he mentioned the Dajjal. He said, "Before his coming there will be three years. In the first year, the sky will withhold a third of its rain and the earth a third of its produce. In the second year, the sky will withhold two-thirds of its rain and the earth two-thirds of its produce. In the third year, the sky will withhold all of its rain and the earth all of its produce, so that no hoofed animal nor any beast with teeth will remain alive but will perish.Among the most severe trials he brings is that he will come to the Arabi and say, 'What do you think? If I bring your camels back to life for you, will you not acknowledge that I am your lord?' The man will reply, 'Yes.' Then Satan will appear to him in the form of his camels, with the finest udders and the largest humps. He will come to a man whose brother has died and whose father has died and say, 'What do you think? If I bring your father back to life for you, and bring your brother back to life for you, will you not acknowledge that I am your lord?' The man will reply, 'Yes.' Then Satan will appear to him in the likeness of his father and his brother."Asma said, Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out for some need, then returned, while the people were still in distress and grief over what he had told them. He took hold of the two sides of the doorway and said, "What is the matter, Asma?"I said, "Messenger of Allah, you have unsettled our hearts with what you mentioned of the Dajjal."He said, "If he comes out while I am alive, I will be the one to confront him on your behalf. If not, then my Lord is my successor over every believer."Asma said, I said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, we knead our dough and cannot bake it before we grow hungry. How will the believers manage on that day?"He replied, "What suffices the inhabitants of heaven will suffice them, the glorification and sanctification of Allah."Wazad added in another narration, "Whoever is present in my gathering and hears my words, let those of you present convey this to those who are absent. Know that Allah عز وجل is whole, not one-eyed, but the Dajjal is one-eyed, his eye is blotted out, and between his eyes is written 'disbeliever,' which every believer will read, whether literate or illiterate."
