We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he mentioned the Dajjal. He said, "The trial of some of you is more frightening to me than the trial of the Dajjal. There is no trial, small or great, but it is dwarfed by the trial of the Dajjal. Whoever is saved from the trials before it will be saved from it. He will not harm any Muslim who reads what is written between his eyes, the word disbeliever spelled out, K-F-R."
Bazzar narrated it (2807), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (6807), and the wording here is his, both of them from Abu Kurayb who said, Yahya bin Adam narrated to us, from Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, from Amash, from Sulayman bin Maysara, from Tariq bin Shihab, from Huzaifa, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Abu Bakr bin Ayyash, for his hadith is hasan. Hafs bin Ghiyath corroborated him, except that his narration is abridged. Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (3/185) from Umar bin Hafs bin Ghiyath, who said, my father narrated to me, Amash narrated to us, with the same chain. Its wording was, "He mentioned Dajjal, saying that written between his eyes is 'disbeliever,' which every Muslim will read." Its chain of transmission is sahih.
