He said to them, "Gather round, and I will show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wudu and how he used to pray, for I do not know how much longer I will be with you."The narrator reported that he then assembled his sons and his household and called for water. He rinsed his mouth and blew water from his nose, washed his face three times, washed his right hand three times, and washed this hand three times (meaning the left). Then he wiped his head and his ears, both their outer and inner surfaces, washed this foot three times (meaning the right), and washed this foot three times (meaning the left). Then he said, "This is it. I have spared no effort in showing you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wudu."He then went into his house and prayed a prayer that we could not identify. Afterward he came out and ordered that the call to prayer be given. The iqamah was called, and he led us in Dhuhr, during which I believe I heard him recite verses from Surah Yasin. Then he prayed Asr, then he led us in Maghrib, and then he led us in the night prayer. Then he said, "I have spared no effort in showing you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform wudu and how he used to pray."
Imam Ahmad reported it (18537), saying, Ismail told us, Saeed Jareeri told us, from Abu Aidh Sayf Saadi, whom he praised well, from Yazid bin Bara bin Azib, who was a governor in Oman and was like the best of governors, who said, my father said, and then he related the hadith. Its chain is hasan because of Sayf Abu Aidh Saadi. Bukhari said, Ibn Ulaya called him by the name Awana, but he is known by his kunya. He reported from Yazid bin Bara bin Azib, from his father, concerning wudu, and Saeed Jareeri reported from him and praised him well. Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators. This is as found in Tajil (244).As for Yazid bin Bara bin Azib, Ajli deemed him trustworthy, and Abu Aidh praised him well, saying, "He was like the best of governors." Ibn Hibban also mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators. Haythami said in Majma (2684), "Ahmad reported it, and its narrators are trustworthy."
