The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been sent, and the Hour is like this." Shuba, one of the narrators of the hadith, joined his index and middle fingers together to demonstrate it.
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: بعثت أنا والساعة هكذا. وقرن شعبة (أحد رواة الحديث) بين إصبعيه المسبحة والوسطى يحكيه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Chapter on Softening of Hearts (6504), and Muslim in the Chapter on Tribulations (2951:134), both through the route of Shubah, from Qatada and Abu Tayah, from Anas bin Malik, who related it. The wording given is Muslim's, and Bukhari did not mention Shubah's action.Muslim also narrated it (2951:133) through another route from Shubah, from Qatada alone, from Anas, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I and the Hour were sent like these two." Shubah said, I heard Qatada say in his account, referring to the superiority of one over the other, but I do not know whether he attributed this to Anas or whether Qatada said it himself.
