The Prophet ﷺ said, "Among the greatest forms of jihad is a word of justice spoken before a tyrannical ruler."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: إن من أعظم الجهاد كلمة عدل عند سلطان جائر.
Reported by Abu Dawud (4344), Tirmidhi (2174, and this is his wording), and Ibn Majah (4011), all of them from the hadith of Israil, who said, our teacher Muhammad bin Jahada told us, from Atiya Awfi, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who related it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan gharib hadith by this route."I say, in its chain is Atiya Awfi, who is Ibn Saad bin Junada, daif due to the poor quality of his memory. I have found a supporting narration for him in Ahmad (11143) within a longer hadith, which has been documented in its proper place. It was reported through the route of Ali bin Zayd bin Jadan, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed. Ibn Jadan is daif, but through these two routes together, the hadith becomes hasan.
