The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The worst of this nation will surely follow the ways of those who came before them from the People of the Book, step by step, exactly as one arrow-feather matches another."
عن رسول الله ﷺ: ليحملن شرار هذه الأمة على سنن الذين خلوا من قبلهم أهل الكتاب حذو القذة بالقذة.
Ahmad (17135), Marwazi in Sunnah (37), and Tabarani in Kabir (7/338) all narrated it through various routes from Abdul-Hameed bin Bahram, who said, Shahr bin Hawshab narrated to us, Abdul-Rahman bin Ghanm narrated to me, that Shaddad bin Aws said, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Shahr bin Hawshab, for there is disagreement about him, though his hadith is hasan when it has a basis, and this hadith is one of them. His statement, "like one arrow-feather matching another arrow-feather," is used as a proverb for two things that are exactly alike and do not differ from one another.
