Kulthum bin Jabr reported,

He said, We were at Wasit al-Qasab with Abdul-Ala bin Abdullah bin Amir, and there was a man with him called Abu Ghadiya. He asked for water, and was brought a vessel inlaid with silver, but he refused to drink from it. He mentioned the Prophet ﷺ and related this hadith, "Do not turn back into disbelievers or those gone astray after me," — Ibn Abu Adi was uncertain which word was used — "striking one another's necks."Then a man began cursing so-and-so, so I said, "By Allah, if Allah ever puts you within my reach in a battle line..." On the day of Siffin, there I came upon him wearing a coat of mail. I noticed the gap at the collar of the mail, so I thrust my spear into him and killed him. It turned out to be Ammar bin Yasir. He said, I asked, "What sort of hands are these of his? He refuses to drink from a vessel inlaid with silver, yet he has killed Ammar bin Yasir!"
