Abu Bakra reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and said, "Do you know what day this is?"They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He kept silent until we thought he would give it a name other than its own. Then he said, "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?"We said, "Yes indeed, Messenger of Allah."He asked, "What land is this? Is it not the Sacred Land?"We said, "Yes indeed, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Your blood, your property, your honor, and your skin are sacred among you, just as this day of yours is sacred, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I conveyed the message?"We said, "Yes."He said, "O Allah, bear witness. Let the one present convey to the one absent, for many a person to whom a message is conveyed grasps it better than the one who heard it directly." And so it turned out.He said, "Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking the necks of one another."

عن أبي بكرة

أن رسول الله ﷺ خطب الناس، فقال: ألا تدرون أي يوم هذا؟ قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم، قال: حتى ظننا أنه سيسميه بغير اسمه، فقال: أليس بيوم النحر، قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله. قال: أي بلد هذا؟ أليست بالبلدة الحرام؟ قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله، قال: فإن دماءكم وأموالكم وأعراضكم وأبشاركم عليكم حرام كحرمة يومكم هذا، في شهركم هذا، في بلدكم هذا، ألا هل بلغت؟ قلنا: نعم، قال: اللهم اشهد، فليبلغ الشاهد الغائب، فإنه رب مبلغ يبلغه لمن هو أوعى له. فكان كذلك، قال: لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض.
