Angels came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was sleeping. Some of them said, "He is asleep."Others said, "The eye is asleep, but the heart is awake."So they said, "There is a parable for this companion of yours. Strike a parable for him."Some of them said, "He is asleep."Others said, "The eye is asleep, but the heart is awake."So they said, "His likeness is that of a man who built a house, prepared a banquet in it, and sent a messenger to invite people. Whoever accepted the invitation entered the house and ate from the banquet, and whoever did not accept the invitation neither entered the house nor ate from the banquet."Then they said, "Interpret it for him so he may understand."Some of them said, "He is asleep."Others said, "The eye is asleep, but the heart is awake."So they said, "The house is Paradise, and the one inviting is Muhammad ﷺ. Whoever obeys Muhammad ﷺ has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys Muhammad ﷺ has disobeyed Allah. Muhammad ﷺ is the one who distinguishes between people."
