The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a ring made of silver, which he wore on his hand. After him, it was on the hand of Abu Bakr, then on the hand of Umar, then on the hand of Uthman, until it eventually fell into the well of Aris. Its inscription read, "Muhammad, Messenger of Allah."
اتخذ رسول الله ﷺ خاتما من ورق، وكان في يده، ثم كان بعد في يد أبي بكر، ثم كان بعد في يد عمر، ثم كان بعد في يد عثمان، حتى وقع بعد في بئر أريس، نقشه: محمد رسول الله.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5873), and Muslim in the Book of Clothing (2091:54), both from the hadith of Abdullah bin Numayr, from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, who related it.This hadith shows that it is permissible for men to wear a silver ring, and it is likewise permissible for a woman to have a ring made of silver. Whoever holds it to be disliked for her has no evidence for that.As for the Well of Aris, Aris is a garden near Quba.
