The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will appear in the last days a people who dye their hair black like the breasts of pigeons. They will not even catch the scent of Paradise."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: يكون قوم يخضبون في آخر الزمان بالسواد كحواصل الحمام، لا يريحون رائحة الجنة.
Abu Dawud (4212), Nasai (5075), and Ahmad (2470) all narrated it through the route of Ubaydullah bin Amr, who is Raqqi, from Abdul-Kareem, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Kareem here is Ibn Malik Jazari, the trustworthy narrator whose narrations are included in the Sahih, and whoever thought he was Ibn Abu Makharaq, the discarded narrator, was mistaken.
