The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Trim the moustaches closely and let the beards grow."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: انهكوا الشوارب وأعفوا اللحى.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5893) from Muhammad, who said, Abdah reported to us, from Ubaydullah bin Umar, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he mentioned it.Muslim narrated it (159:52) from the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed Qattan and others, from Ubaydullah, with the wording, "Trim the mustaches closely and let the beards grow."
