Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever drags his lower garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him."Zayd said, Ibn Umar used to relate that the Prophet ﷺ saw him wearing a lower garment that was rustling, meaning it was new, and asked, "Who is this?"I replied, "Abdullah."He said, "If you are truly Abdullah, then raise your lower garment."So I raised it.He said, "Raise it more."So I raised it until it reached halfway up my shin.Then he turned to Abu Bakr and said, "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection."Abu Bakr said, "My lower garment slips down at times."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You are not one of them."

عن ابن عمر قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من جر إزاره من الخيلاء لم ينظر الله إليه. قال زيد: وقد كان ابن عمر يحدث أن النبي ﷺ رآه وعليه إزار يتقعقع- يعني جديدا- قال: من هذا؟ قلت: عبد الله. قال: إن كنت عبد الله فارفع إزارك، قال: فرفعته، قال: زد، قال: فرفعته حتى بلغ نصف الساق، ثم التفت إلى أبي بكر، فقال: من جر ثوبه من الخيلاء لم ينظر الله إليه يوم القيامة، فقال أبو بكر: إن إزاري يسترخي أحيانا، فقال النبي ﷺ: لست منهم.
