The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever forgoes fine clothing out of humility before Allah, while being able to afford it, Allah will call him forth on the Day of Resurrection before all of creation and let him choose whichever robes of faith he wishes to wear."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من ترك اللباس تواضعا لله، وهو يقدر عليه، دعاه الله يوم القيامة على رؤس الخلائق، حتى يخيره من أي حلل الإيمان شاء يلبسها.
Narrated by Tirmidhi (2481), Ahmad (15631), and Hakim (4/183–184), all from the hadith of Abu Abdul-Rahman Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, who said, Saeed bin Abu Ayub narrated to us, from Abu Marhum Abdul-Rahim bin Maymun, from Sahl bin Muaz bin Anas Juhani, from his father, who said... and then he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Rahim bin Maymun and Sahl bin Muaz, for they make the hadith hasan. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan hadith, and the meaning of his statement 'the garments of faith' is what the people of faith are given from the garments of paradise." Hakim said, "Its chain is sahih."His statement, "whoever abandons wearing clothes," means clothing worn for show and boastfulness.
