Aishah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I used to sleep under the same garment while I was menstruating. If anything from me got onto it, he would wash that spot only, without washing the rest, then pray in it. And if anything from it got onto his garment, he would wash that spot only, without washing the rest, then pray in it."
Abu Dawud (269) narrated it, and this is his wording, as did Nasai (284, 372), both of them through the route of Yahya (that is, Ibn Saeed), from Jabir bin Subh, who said, I heard Khilas Hijri say, I heard Ayesha... and he related the hadith. In Nasai's wording it reads, "Then he goes back to it. If something from his emission had touched it, he would do the same thing, and would not remove it, and would pray in it."This is a hasan chain, for it contains Jabir bin Subh Rasibi, Abu Bishr Basri, about whom the Hafiz said, "Truthful (saduq)." Ibn Main, Nasai, and others confirmed his reliability. As for Khilas Hijri, that is, Ibn Amr Basri, he is a reliable successor (tabii thiqah), though he used to transmit without a direct link (yursil) from Umar, Uthman, and Ali.
