Abu Dawud (367), Tirmidhi (600), and Nasai (5366) all narrated it through Ashath bin Abdul-Malik, from Muhammad bin Sirin, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq, from Ayesha, and the wording given here is that of Abu Dawud. Tirmidhi's wording is, "He would not pray in his wives' wraps," and Nasai's wording is, "He would not pray in our wraps." Sufyan bin Habib said, "our cloaks." Its chain of transmission is sahih.Abu Dawud also narrated it (368) through another route, from Hammad (bin Zayd), from Hisham (bin Hassan Qurdusi), from Ibn Sirin, from Ayesha, that the Prophet ﷺ would not pray in our cloaks.Hammad (bin Zayd) said, "I heard Saeed bin Abu Sadaqah say, 'I asked Muhammad about it, but he did not relate it to me. He said, "I heard it a long time ago, and I do not know from whom I heard it, nor do I know whether I heard it from a reliable narrator or not, so ask about it."'" That is what he said.Ashath bin Abdul-Malik is trustworthy, and he made clear that the intermediary between Muhammad bin Sirin and Ayesha was Abdullah bin Shaqiq, and what is certain should not be set aside merely because of doubt. This is why Tirmidhi said, "hasan sahih." Daraqutni said, "The correct view is Ashath's view," meaning regarding his connecting the chain from Ibn Sirin.Tirmidhi said, "It has also been narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that there is a dispensation regarding this. It is found in the chapter before this one."
