We visited a feverish man with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I placed my hand on him and said, "By Allah, I have never seen anyone burning with such intense heat as this man today."The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I tell you of two men who will burn with greater heat than him on the Day of Resurrection? These two riders here turning their backs and riding away."
Muslim narrated it in "The Characteristics of the Hypocrites" (2783) from Abbas bin Abdul-Azim Anbari, who said, Abu Muhammad Nadr bin Muhammad bin Musa Yamami told us, Ikrima told us, Iyas told us, my father told me, and he said, and he mentioned it.His statement, "the two who turned their backs" means the two who turned their necks away. The narrator's statement, "the two men from among his companions" means, because the two of them outwardly showed Islam, but inwardly concealed hypocrisy.
