The Prophet ﷺ saw a man chasing a pigeon and said, "A devil chasing a she-devil."
أن النبي ﷺ رأى رجلا يتبع حمامة فقال: شيطان يتبع شيطانة.
Abu Dawud (4940), Ibn Majah (3765), and Ahmad (8543) narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (5874) graded it sahih, all of them through the hadith of Hammad bin Salama, from Muhammad bin Amr, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama Laythi.Sharik bin Abdullah Nakhai erred in it, narrating it from Muhammad bin Amr and making it part of the musnad of Ayesha. Ibn Majah (3764) narrated this, and this Sharik is described as having weak memory, and what is preserved is that it is from the hadith of Abu Hurairah.It has also been reported with a similar meaning from Uthman bin Affan and Anas bin Malik, but that is not sahih.
