There was a panic in Madinah, so the Prophet ﷺ borrowed a horse of ours called Mandub. He said, "We saw no cause for fear, and indeed we found him to be like a sea."
كان فزع بالمدينة، فاستعار النبي ﷺ فرسا لنا يقال له: مندوب، فقال: ما رأينا من فزع وإن وجدناه لبحرا.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (2857), and Muslim reported it in the Book of Virtues (2307:49), both through routes from Shubah, from Qatada, from Anas bin Malik, who mentioned it.
