The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let none of you be prevented by fear of people from speaking the truth when he knows it."Abu Saeed Khudri said, "Trials kept befalling us until we fell short, and indeed we go to great lengths in evil."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: لا يمنعن أحدكم مخافة الناس أن يتكلم بحق إذا علمه. قال: فقال أبو سعيد الخدري: فما زال بنا البلاء حتى قصرنا وإنا لنبلغ في الشر.
Ahmad (11869) narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (278) graded it sahih, both of them by way of Shuba, from Qatada, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, who related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Tirmidhi (2191) narrated it, within the course of a long hadith, and Ibn Majah (4007) narrated it, both of them by way of Ali bin Zayd bin Jadan, from Abu Nadra, from him. Ali bin Zayd bin Jadan is daif, but he is corroborated regarding the passage mentioned.
