The Prophet ﷺ said, "My example and the example of the prophets before me is like that of a man who built a house, completed it, and made it beautiful, except for the place of one brick. People began entering the house, marveling at it, and saying, 'If only this space for the brick were filled.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am that brick, I have come and sealed the line of prophets."
قال النبي ﷺ: مثلي ومثل الأنبياء كرجل بنى دارا فأكملها وأحسنها، إلا موضع لبنة، فجعل الناس يدخلونها ويتعجبون منها ويقولون: لولا موضع اللبنة. قال رسول الله ﷺ فأنا موضع اللبنة، جئت فختمت الأنبياء.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Virtues (3534), and Muslim in the Book of Merits (2287), both from the hadith of Salim bin Hayan, who said, Saeed bin Mina narrated to us, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it.
