When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said what he said about the lower garment, Abu Bakr asked, "Messenger of Allah, my lower garment slips down on one side."He replied, "You are not one of them."
أن رسول الله ﷺ حين ذكر في الإزار ما ذكر، قال أبو بكر: يا رسول الله، إن إزاري يسقط من أحد شقيه؟ قال: إنك لست منهم.
Bukhari narrated it in Al-Adab (6062), from Ali bin Abdullah, who said, Sufyan told us, Musa bin Uqba told us, from Salim, from his father, and he related it.Ibn Hajar said, This is a form of praise, but since it was purely truthful and the one being praised was safe from vanity and pride as a result, he was praised for it, and this does not fall under the prohibition. Among the things that fall into this category are the hadiths about the virtues of the companions, and the description of each one of them with the beautiful qualities he was described with.
