The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand my soul rests, I would love to fight in the cause of Allah and be killed, then be brought back to life and killed again, then be brought back to life and killed again."Abu Hurairah used to repeat this three times, saying, "I bear witness by Allah."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: والذي نفسي بيده وددت أني أقاتل في سبيل الله فأقتل، ثم أحيا ثم أقتل، ثم أحيا ثم أقتل فكان أبو هريرة يقولهن ثلاثا، أشهد بالله.
Malik reported it in Jihad (27) from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Bukhari reported it in Tamanni (7227) through the route of Malik, with the same chain.Muslim reported it in Imarah (1876:106) through the route of Sufyan, from Abu Zinad, with the same chain.
