When one of us became ritually impure, she would pour water with her hands over her head three times, then take water with one hand over her right side and with the other hand over her left side.
كنا إذا أصابت إحدانا جنابة أخذت بيديها ثلاثا فوق رأسها، ثم تأخذ بيدها على شقها الأيمن، وبيدها الأخرى على شقها الأيسر.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on ghusl (277) through Safiya bint Shayba, from Ayesha, who said... and then he mentioned it. Its ruling is that of a raised report, like the saying of a companion, "We used to do such and such." It is among the selections of Bukhari in his Sahih.
