Hassan bin Thabit asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for permission to satirize the polytheists. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "But what about my lineage?"Hassan replied, "I will draw you out from among them as a hair is drawn out from dough."Urwa said, "I once began to speak ill of Hassan in the presence of Ayesha, and she said, 'Do not insult him, for he used to defend the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"
Bukhari narrated it in Adab (6150), and Muslim in Fadail al-Sahabah (2489), both from Abdah, who said, "Hisham bin Urwa informed us, from his father, from Ayesha," and he related it. The wording given is Bukhari's, and Muslim did not state his own wording, but instead referred back to the hadith before it, while noting the differences between the two versions. The wording that was referred to does not contain Urwa's statement. The hadith is mentioned in Fadail al-Sahabah.
