The Messenger of Allah's ﷺ finger was made to bleed during one of those battles, and he said, "You are only a finger that has bled, and what you have suffered is in the path of Allah."In another narration, while the Prophet ﷺ was walking, a stone struck him and he stumbled, causing his finger to bleed. He said, "You are only a finger that has bled, and what you have suffered is in the path of Allah."
دميت إصبع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض تلك المشاهد، فقال: هل أنت إلا إصبع دميت، وفي سبيل الله ما لقيت. وفي رواية: بينما النبي ﷺ يمشي إذ أصابه حجر، فعثر، فدميت إصبعه، فقال: هل أنت إلا إصبع دميت… وفي سبيل الله ما لقيت.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (2802), and Muslim in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (1796:112), both through the route of Abu Awana, from Aswad bin Qays, from Jundab bin Sufyan, who said, then he mentioned it.The second narration was reported by Bukhari in the Book of Manners (6146), and Muslim in the Book of Jihad (1796:113), both through the route of Ibn Uyayna, from Aswad, with the same chain. The wording is Bukhari's, and Muslim did not give his own wording.
