Anas reported that a tailor invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to a meal he had prepared. Anas said, "I went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to that meal. He brought him barley bread and a broth containing gourd. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ picking out the pieces of gourd from around the bowl, and I have loved gourd ever since that day."
Malik reported it in the Book of Marriage (51), from Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abu Talha, that he heard Anas bin Malik say what has already been mentioned. Bukhari also reported it in the Book of Sales (2092), and Muslim in the Book of Drinks (144:2041), both of them through the route of Malik with the same wording.
