Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave water to drink, he would say, "Begin with the eldest," or he said, "with the elders."
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا سقى قال: ابدؤوا بالكبير-أو قال-: بالأكابر.

Abu Yaala (2425) and Tabarani in Al-Awsat, Majma Bahrayn (4137), both narrated it through the route of Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Sahm, who said, Abdullah bin Mubarak narrated to us, who said, Khalid Haddan narrated to us, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Sahm, who is Ibn Hakeem bin Sahm Antaki, for he is hasan al-hadith. Ibn Abu Hatim mentioned him in Al-Jarh wal-Tadil and mentioned that his father said, "He narrated from Abu Ishaq Fazari, and Muslim bin Hajjaj Nisaburi narrated from him." And that is indeed the case. Ibn Hibban said in his Thiqat, "He is one of our shaykhs, though he may sometimes err." Khatib authenticated him in Tarikh Baghdad.
