The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the inverting of waterskins, meaning that their mouths be bent over and drunk from.In another narration, that one drinks directly from their mouths.In yet another narration, the inverting of them means that the mouth of the waterskin is turned over and then drunk from.
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن اختناث الأسقية يعني أن تكسر أفواهها فيشرب منها. وفي رواية: أن يشرب من أفواهها. وفي رواية: واختنائها أن يقلب رأسها ثم يشرب منه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Drinks (5625), both of them through Zuhri, from Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utba, from Abu Saeed Khudri, who mentioned it.
