Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

He was asked about performing ablution after eating food touched by fire. He replied, "No. In the time of the Prophet ﷺ, we rarely came across such food, and when we did, we had no napkins except our palms, forearms, and feet. We would then pray without performing ablution."

عن جابر بن عبد الله

أنه سأله عن الوضوء مما مست النار؟ فقال: لا، قد كنا زمان النبي ﷺ لا نجد مثل ذلك من الطعام إلا قليلا، فإذا نحن وجدناه لم يكن لنا مناديل إلا أكفنا وسواعدنا وأقدامنا، ثم نصلي ولا نتوضأ.
