The Prophet ﷺ said, "The believer is one who is sociable and easy to get along with, and there is no good in one who is neither sociable nor approachable."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: المؤمن مألف، ولا خير فيمن لا يألف ولا يؤلف.
Ahmad (9198) and Bazzar (8919) both narrated it through the route of Ibn Wahb, from Abu Sakhr, from Abu Hazim (who is Salama bin Dinar), from Abu Salih (who is Samman), from Abu Hurairah, who related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Abu Sakhr, who is Humayd bin Ziyad, a narrator whose hadith is hasan as long as his error is not established. Bazzar said following it, "This is how Abu Sakhr said it, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, but Musab bin Thabit narrated it from Abu Hazim, from Sahl bin Saad."I say, the hadith of Sahl bin Saad Saadi was narrated by Ahmad (22840), Tabarani in Al-Kabir (6/131), and Bayhaqi in Al-Adab (190), all of them through the route of Isa bin Yunus, who said, Musab bin Thabit narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from Sahl bin Saad Saadi, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The believer is companionable, and there is no good in one who does not befriend others nor is befriended."Its isnad is daif. Musab bin Thabit is considered daif by the majority of scholars, and moreover he contradicted someone more reliable than himself. So the sahih and preserved version is that it comes from the hadith of Abu Hurairah.
